DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE REGION 4 POLLUTION PREVENTION PARTNERSHIP
Working closely with the Region 4 Office of the
Department of Defense, ERS assisted southeast military facilities in
addressing a variety of issues.
During the first phase of activities, ERS helped establish
the Regional Partnership consisting of more than 90 members,
including facilities from all branches of the armed forces and the
environmental and/or pollution prevention offices of each of the
eight states in Region 4. Under
the supervision of ERS staff, the DOD Region 4 P2 Partnership
established a steering committee and an executive committee to chart
policy and establish criteria for awarding funds.
ERS conducted a needs and expertise survey among partners;
established a regular electronic newsletter; and produced an
overview brochure. These
activities prepared the way for federal funding for grant projects
throughout Region 4, under the administration of ERS.
